Samsung Introduces AI Circle to Search and Live Translate Features on Smart TVs

Samsung continues to lead in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its smart television devices. In October 2024, the company introduced AI-powered generative wallpaper features for its flagship Smart TV models.

Now, Samsung is expanding AI capabilities by adding "Click to Search" and "Live Translate" features to its Smart TV lineup. These features are designed to enhance user experiences in searching for information and watching content. This innovation is part of Samsung Vision AI, the latest technology unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Samsung Vision AI aims to deliver more personalized and intuitive user experiences by integrating AI into various devices, including Neo QLED, OLED, QLED, and The Frame TVs.

AI Circle to Search and Live Translate Features on Samsung Smart TVs

The Click to Search feature, now available on Samsung Smart TVs, is similar to the Circle to Search feature previously introduced on Samsung smartphones. This feature allows users to obtain detailed information about what they see on the screen, such as locations, actors, or specific objects (e.g., vases, hats, clothing, or accessories).

Meanwhile, the Live Translate feature provides AI-based translation capabilities on TV devices. It works similarly to the Live Translate feature on Galaxy phones, enabling real-time translation, including for video subtitles or live broadcasts. With this feature, users can easily enjoy various content in different languages.

Initially, the Live Translate feature will support seven languages, with plans to add more in the future.

Additionally, Samsung has incorporated the Generative Wallpaper feature, first introduced last year. This feature functions similarly to Generative Wallpaper on One UI 6 and One UI 7 devices, allowing users to create dynamic and personalized backgrounds.
