Foldable iPhone Coming in 2026? Leaks Reveal Galaxy Z Fold-Like Design

The rumor about a foldable iPhone has been circulating for a long time, but the latest leak is said to bring a surprise. Instead of using a clamshell design like most foldable phones, Apple is reportedly opting for a horizontal folding concept resembling a book.

After years of mere speculation, the existence of a foldable iPhone is starting to seem more real. Several renowned tech analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, have revealed that Apple is preparing to release this device in 2026.

Initially, many expected the foldable iPhone to adopt a clamshell design, making it more compact when folded and featuring a tall display when opened. However, Kuo’s latest report suggests that Apple has chosen a different approach.

A Foldable Design Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold

According to Kuo, the foldable iPhone will have a book-like design instead of a clamshell. The device is expected to feature a 7.8-inch main display with no visible crease and a 5.5-inch secondary screen. In his report, Kuo mentioned that this design would provide a more optimal wide-screen experience compared to the clamshell format.

If this information is accurate, the foldable iPhone will resemble the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold more than the Z Flip. With this design, users can enjoy a larger display without needing to switch to an iPad.

A Potential Replacement for the iPad Mini?

This design concept is considered intriguing as it allows the device to combine the functionalities of both an iPhone and an iPad Mini. When closed, it remains as practical as a regular iPhone, but when unfolded, its screen size approaches that of an iPad Mini, making it ideal for multitasking or consuming content.

With these latest leaks, the existence of a foldable iPhone seems more plausible. However, it is important to note that all this information remains speculative, and there has been no official confirmation from Apple.
