Samsung Enhances Sketch to Image Feature with Multimodal Support
Samsung is set to launch the latest smartphone in its Galaxy S lineup. This upcoming device will feature an array of enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
One of the features receiving significant upgrades is Sketch to Image. According to an official statement released on Thursday (January 16, 2025), this feature, now integrated with Drawing Assist, will become even more advanced.
The updated feature supports various inputs, such as drawing with the S Pen or finger, and now offers a multimodal experience. Users can add text descriptions or give voice commands to generate images as they envision.
For instance, users imagining a cat can sketch it using the S Pen. With Galaxy AI’s multimodal capabilities, typing the word "spacesuit" will add a spacesuit to the cat, or place it in an outer space setting.
Another example is sketching a dream home and then adding prompts like "by the beach" or "in the mountains." Drawing Assist will then render the home in the desired setting and offer different perspectives.
“This level of creative freedom stems from our legacy of innovation, which began in 2011 when we launched the Galaxy Note to redefine creative potential on smartphones,” Samsung wrote.
Through the One UI 7 update, Samsung will introduce its first fully integrated AI platform, enabling devices to understand human language through text, voice, and images.
“This marks a new standard for multimodal mobile AI, unlocking extraordinary creative possibilities. However, this is just the beginning,” Samsung added. Further details will be revealed during the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 23, 2025.
Now Bar Arrives on One UI 7: Smarter Personalization
In addition to this, Samsung plans to unveil its latest innovation for Galaxy AI features on mobile devices.
Accompanying the launch of the new Galaxy S at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, a series of new AI features, including Now Bar, will be introduced.
Now Bar is designed to offer enhanced personalization with the help of Galaxy AI. This feature allows users to manage daily activities more efficiently, including easier access to frequently used or recommended apps.
Ilham Indrawan, Senior Manager of MX Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, emphasized Samsung’s commitment to creating devices that are more personal for users.
“Smartphones have become an essential part of daily life. Therefore, these devices must understand users' habits to assist them in their activities,” he stated in a press release on Thursday (January 9, 2025).
Innovative Breakthroughs with Now Bar
Now Bar on One UI 7 provides quick access features, such as turning notifications into shortcuts to specific apps with a single swipe, even from the lock screen. The update also introduces a fresh, modern animation design.
Notifications can be tailored to individual preferences. For example, when using Galaxy Wearables, Now Bar can display Sleep Monitoring data along with activity recommendations.
Additionally, calendar events and weather forecasts will be integrated into notifications to provide supplementary information.
Now Bar not only revamps personalization but also functions as a personal assistant that understands user needs, saves time, and boosts productivity.
Samsung remains committed to meeting the needs of modern users by delivering a more personalized system aligned with its AI vision to create better experiences.
