New Whatsapp feature can block spam messages from unknown numbers
Lately, the mode of fraud and hacking (hacking / phishing) has become increasingly prevalent, especially in the Whatsapp application. Some pretend to send wedding invitations, PDF files, to pretend to be a package courier. But calm down, now Whatsapp is developing their new feature to overcome this security problem. This feature is being tested on the latest Whatsapp Beta version.
To be able to access this new feature, users have to make a little effort because it is hidden in the “Advanced” tab in the Privacy section of the Settings menu. To activate (and deactivate), users simply slide the toggle available on the “Block unknown account messages” option.
From the news circulating Whatsapp will block messages from unknown numbers (never interacted before) with a certain time limit. So new messages will be automatically blocked because they will be considered spam by Whatsapp, especially if the perpetrator sends messages in a row. So business owners and ordinary users don't need to worry, because they can still receive messages from strangers provided that the messages are sent in a normal way.
This feature will further complement Whatsapp's security features which previously could only mute unknown phone calls.
But again, this feature is still in the development stage. So it is possible that the performance of the work cannot be maximized and can still change in the future. Whatsapp will only launch this feature for all users if it is considered perfect.
