Pavel Durov Arrested in France, Telegram Speaks Out

A day after the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov while landing at Le Bourget airport, France, the messaging application finally opened its voice. It stated an official message on the Telegram News channel on the Telegram application.

In its statement, Telegram said that they have always obeyed the applicable laws, especially regarding the moderation of content in the application.

“All of our operations on Telegram comply with the laws of Europe, including the Digital Services Act. In addition, our content moderation process has also evolved over time,” said Telegram.

Telegram also reiterated that Pavel Durov did not hide information regarding anything that happened in France. Most likely the allegation arose because of its connection with the many criminal acts that occurred in the Telegram application in France.

“Pavel Durov has been traveling in Europe normally. It doesn't make sense for a pioneer or platform creator to use his own platform for despicable activities or criminal acts,” Telegram added.

As of now, Telegram is still waiting for more information about the arrest of their boss.
“We are waiting and urging for a resolution to the issues surrounding Pavel Durov. Telegram will of course always be with our users,” Telegram said.
