Marcus also added that the growth of the gaming industry is exploding in Asia Pacific and contributes 45% to global gaming revenue.
According to Marcus, the majority of gamers in Asia Pacific are under 25 years old and have high enthusiasm for cloud gaming, multiplayer games, and Esport.
Google shows its support by empowering Indonesian developers through various programs. Of all the programs, the most prominent is the Indie Games Accelerator (IGA).
"IGA is one example of how we do this, in addition to other Google initiatives such as Google Play x Unity Game Developer Training, Bangkit, and Google Play Academy, all of which provide training and mentors for developers."
Marcus said that taking elements from local culture and wisdom is one of the important aspects in creating games to preserve and introduce Indonesia to the international scene.
Azizah Assattari, CEO of Lentera Nusantara also gave her views on the future of mobile gaming in Indonesia.
Lentera Nusantara is one of the game developers focusing on local content and has gained recognition for its innovative work.
"Lentera Nusantara's vision is to create great works and inspire more creators," said Azizah.
