Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Set to Launch in 2025, Including the New Galaxy S25 Slim?

Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch its new flagship series, which is expected to be named the Galaxy S25 series, in January 2025. This upcoming lineup is likely to include three main models: the standard Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Additionally, there are reports suggesting that Samsung will also introduce a Galaxy S25 Slim, which is expected to feature a slim and thin design, as indicated by the name "Slim."

However, unlike the other models, the Galaxy S25 Slim may not be launched alongside the rest of the S25 series. It is believed that this slim variant will debut a few months after the official launch of the S25 series, possibly around the second quarter of 2025. According to an industry insider, Samsung is likely to produce the Galaxy S25 Slim in limited quantities at first to gauge consumer response. If the market response is positive, Samsung could consider making design changes to the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to be released in 2026. However, it is still unclear what specific design changes are being referred to.

Samsung's move to release a slimmer smartphone appears to be aimed at competing with Apple, which is also rumored to be preparing a Slim iPhone or iPhone Air for next year. This information has been widely circulated, including through YouTuber Jon Prosser's Front Page Tech channel. The thin iPhone is expected to replace the iPhone Plus models, which typically feature larger screens. For example, the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 16 Plus have 6.7-inch displays with a thickness of around 7.8 mm. The upcoming iPhone 17 Air is rumored to feature a slightly smaller screen, around 6.56 inches.

To produce a slimmer smartphone, both Samsung and Apple would need to use thinner components, such as smaller screens and batteries. Another approach might be reducing unnecessary components. However, there are no details yet on how exactly Samsung and Apple plan to implement these slim designs.

Additionally, some sources have indicated that Samsung may release all four models in the Galaxy S25 series, including the S25 Slim, simultaneously in January 2025. This information comes from a leak reported by South Korean media outlet FnNews, which revealed that the launch of the Galaxy S25 series is scheduled for that month.
